Forwards question

Postby Cazior » Tue Feb 21, 2006 8:30 pm

How is a forward's skill determined if he is put in at the other forward position?

Another way of posing the question: which of the following orcs would do best in the *short term* if put at the position of WING, all other things being equal?

Or would they all be the same until one of them levelled up to Wing 4 (giving an advantage to Orcs A and B).

Orc A

Wing 3 Get 4, Lose 4
Center 1 Tough 4

Orc B

Wing 3 Get 4, Lose 4
Center 3 Tough 4

Orc C

Wing 1 Get 4, Lose 4
Center 3 Tough 4

Each position looks for different qualities. Centers need to be able to win faceoffs (get) and score (lose), and dodge the opponent's big hitters (eek). Wings need to be able to score and hit (pound). Defensemen need to hit (pound) often (sneak) and block shots (slam). Goalies are focused on blocking shots, but need to be able to catch (get) and react (eek). I think every position uses every skill for something.

To answer the multiple choice question, each of those would do about equally well at wing, but your options don't allow me to differentiate based on other secondary qualities. How well can they hit? Dodge?

Thank you for the overview. Assuming all other stats are equal (4s, for example) and all other seasons of experience are equal (Goalie/Defense at 1 for example)... I was just curious in isolating the seaons of experience at Wing and Center, and understanding how they benefit a forward, even if he's out of the forward position.

So... which orc would do best at Wing in the short term if the only differences between the orcs was their number of seasons at Wing and Center? Is the effectiveness at Wing determined by an orc's seasons at Wing only, the higher number of his seasons at Wing and Center, the sum of his seasons at Wing and Center, or some other formula?

hmmm well Orc C would not Play as well as A and B due to only having 1 season as Wing (the More Seasons the Better)

As far as A and B ....... If you had exact Orcs with the only Differance between the two is how many seasons they played as Center sitting on your bench with only 1 wing Spot left to fill...

First off id Say  WOOOOOW  did you have a Nice Homelands to Bide from and 2nd id tell ya to stick the 3 Season Center in Wing If all other Skills were the same.. and all your 2 Centers and other Wing positions are already filled with better Orc's

But as what Ice Said All Skill play a part in Each Position.. Just Some are more important than others its really how you want your Team to play 8)
