Psychotropic Soiree - Who'da thunk it?

Postby sharp » Wed Mar 22, 2006 10:11 pm

During this season, the Pscyhotropic Soiree have had a lot of ups and downs. Their record and game play has sometimes seemed patterned after chemically-induced swings of elation followed by the crash and burn of a crack addict thrown in the big house. The team has some very talented players who were were able to pull it through the season with a good enough record to gain post-season play. However, few prognorcsticators gave the 3rd seed team with addictive personalities much chance to make it past the first round. The Soiree entered the first round of the playoffs facing Brakgwar's aptly-named Death Reapers who had handed them two regular season losses and 3 deaths along with medical bills that would make Hippocrates roll in his grave. The Soiree surprised themselves by pulling out the win on the first game of the series 14-7. But the win came at the cost of the Soiree's number one center Zujfemehig, who was almost season 4 and knocked out in the last 3 minutes of the game by the burley Reapers. This was a huge loss for the team as he was their highest scorer and they were very shallow on centers from the bench. The second game, the Reapers asserted themselves again and dominated to tie up the series 17-9. The loss of Zujfemehig was felt immensely. All seemed bleak as the team took the field for the 3rd game. The Reapers had not only won the second game convincingly, they had also managed to knock out 3 more of the Soiree's players - including a couple more centers. The remaining players resolved to try to win one more for their beloved leader Zujfemehig, who was still in the regen chamber, and managed to pull out the win in the 3rd game of the series with the Reapers but it came at a horrible cost. The Soiree had lost 5 more players in that last game - must be some type of a record - 9 players in 3 games. Little hope of winning a game in the finals against the Lions was left.

Fast forward a few days to game one of the finals with the Lions, whos storybook season has met with few snags as they have rolled over most of their competition with the greatest of ease. The lions won all 3 games against the Soiree during the regular season and they showed why with a convincing win in game one of the series with a 19-9 steamrolling of the battered team on life support. Game two was written off as the end of the season by most onlookers, but there was one orc who thought differently. Zujfemehig had just returned from the regen chamber that day and he came out with fire in his eyes (some say it may have had something to do with the methamphetamines he took right before the game). His energy must have sparked something in his downtrodden and 3rd stringer teammates who were filling in the holes left in the roster by the series with the Reapers. Many of these players did not even rate a silver star next to their position in the statistics. These orcs biggest excitement this season came from trying to get away from the castle guards. They were not expecting such late-season employment but they gave it all they had. They played like true warriors led by their determined star center who absolutely lit up the Lion's shocked goalies. Zujfemehig scored two 1 pointers and an astounding FOUR 3 point goals in the game! The tables may have turned as the Soiree put the smack down with a 19-6 shocker that ties the series at 1-1 and forces a game 3. Soiree team management informs us that no players were killed in either game against the Lions and ALL players will be back from the regen chambers just in time for the final game - including three 3rd season centers and one 3rd season wing who were killed in the final game vs the Reapers. Can the Psychotropic Soiree stay straight and put down their Ritalin and LSD long enough to pull off this epic David vs. Goliath act? Should be interesting --- stay tuned.

Detroit Lions win championship

Postby sharp » Fri Mar 24, 2006 7:35 pm

Alas the Soiree had a difficult time overcoming their recreational drug haze. The final score in the third game of the series was 14-7 Lions. Congrats to the Lions on a hard-fought season and series. There is always next year :)

P.S. Zujfemehig had a good game with two 1 pointers and one 3 pointer.
