Overlord's Team IQ Win-Loss-Tie Points For - Against
Tuneloon's Thrashers 61 13-2-0 726 - 214
Sharp's Old Fogies 54 11-3-1 587 - 155
Big Mike's Greenjacks 52 11-4-0 798 - 210
Brett's Ticks 52 11-4-0 634 - 296
Dushlan's Rage 21 4-10-1 501 - 342
Dan's Brutal Bashers 19 4-11-0 205 - 325
Chris's The Moops 14 3-12-0 269 - 517
Daniel's Fumpas Team O Fumpin 9 2-13-0 76 - 1737

Going into tonights game with 6 games left in the season, and we know the four, we know not where..

Upcoming matchups for the back to backs to end the season are

Games 16&17 Brett vs. Sharp *** Sharp's defense has been awesome as they have only given up 20+ points in a game once this season. They face Brett, who broke that mark in a 25-20 victory in Wk-6.

Games 18&19 Big Mike vs. Tuneloon *** The two highest scoring offenses in the league face off in what is sure to be an exciting series. Tune owned game one 23-9, one of only 2 times the Greenjacks have been held to single digits. (The other... Wk1 in a 19-9 loss to Sharp)

Games 20&21 Sharp vs. Tuneloon *** Nuf said (as with Big Mike, Tune has only scored single digits once, in a Wk-5 loss to Sharp... do we sense a theme here?)

Looking forward to seeing how this season finishes out.

I have been finding this "comeback" season of mine most enjoyable. Really a bunch of good competition here. Just hope my fogies don't expire before the end :) (btw its less defense and more ungodly goalies - got 2 with slam 9, 1 with slam 8 and my "backup", third-string goalie has slam 6)

After tonight's action:

Biggest thing I have learned in elite: You have got to have goalies in spades. They take way more damage than in non-elite leagues and you need at least 3 good ones to contend. You also need to learn to set tol up. Your top notch guys are worth a lot more alive then they are dead - even if its only 10 mins per game. Rough season for you Dushlan - but I bet you come back strong next one.

yeah I have noticed many things and although we have been unceremoniusly beaten into blood pulps relentlessly, I have noticed my failings. next time we get to the elites, things will be very very different

Well, playoffs almost upon us. I guess I feel pretty good about my standing considering the Fogies are a rookie elite team.

League Standings

Overlord's Team IQ Win-Loss-Tie Points For - Against
Tuneloon's Thrashers 71 15-3-0 830 - 276
Big Mike's Greenjacks 66 14-4-0 892 - 252
Sharp's Old Fogies 64 13-4-1 672 - 233
Brett's Ticks 61 13-5-0 852 - 356
Dushlan's Rage 26 5-12-1 566 - 440
Chris's The Moops 23 5-13-0 588 - 545
Dan's Brutal Bashers 19 4-14-0 241 - 422
Daniel's Fumpas Team O Fumpin 9 2-16-0 79 - 2196

However, not liking my chances in the playoffs. I think I started rotating my third string guys in too late in the season. I don't know if I am going to have the oomph required in the playoffs with so many -3's and -'4s on the roster. Unfortunately, I felt I had to play those guys to make the playoffs at all. It's a testament to the caliber of play in this league.

Looks like I might be facing Tune in the first round and that might not go well for me. I will be playing my "Old Fogies", of course, though :) No 3rd stringers in that situation. Hope they don't expire on the field lol.

I feel your pain Sharp.

As of right now, I've got 13 orcs with canes {3 @ -1, 4 @-2, 3 @ -3 and 3 @ -5}. I also have 7 orcs in the regeneration chamber thanks to Big Mike knocking 4 out in our last game, and I face him again tonight.

I've got 100K already invested in rollover, and another 60K in cash, so financially I'm in good shape for next season.

...... and here they come down the stretch!!!

Rollover huh? Yeah, guess I should start thinking about that :) I only have 11k into it so far. I probably waste a bunch of $ every season cause I always forget to pay attention to that til the last couple weeksif at all. Oh - tune, I got you beat on total canes (14), but my highest is -4 (2 of those), got 4 -3's.

please. your all wippersnappers.
1 x -5
2 x -4
4 x -3
2 x -2

but then again, a few other hings need to be considered, primarily would be the small matter of having 'several new ones' torn into me.

which is why were ending in a bang, everyones at max armour, max weapons. if this 'oldschool' is retiring, tie to leave some bodies on our way out!!!

Seriously, thnx for the learning curve....

Hear ye, hear ye.... league standings at game 21:

League Standings

Overlord's Team IQ Win-Loss-Tie Points For - Against
Big Mike's Greenjacks 76 16-5-0 1014 - 320
Tuneloon's Thrashers 76 16-5-0 881 - 337
Sharp's Old Fogies 73 15-5-1 760 - 279
Brett's Ticks 71 15-6-0 1110 - 420
Dan's Brutal Bashers 33 7-14-0 542 - 443
Dushlan's Rage 30 6-14-1 651 - 542
Chris's The Moops 28 6-15-0 651 - 694
Daniel's Fumpas Team O Fumpin 9 2-19-0 79 - 2653

Well, I am facing Tune for the first round of the playoffs, but not the way I thought. Figured Tune 1, me 4. Turned out different, though. Tune, were you playing scrubs tonight? :) I did swap out a vet center for the scrub you killed in the first of our back to back a couple days ago, but other than that, I played my same rooks in first string tonight. (Been doing that for maybe 8 games or so now - trying to get them exp). Just curious if you did something different. I didn't expect to pull tonight's game off, honestly. But hey, I need the $... so glad it turned out that way. Finding it hard to compete with the other elite teams with the fogies in terms of training facilities. I need one more to complete the skill 4 tier!

I did a few minor changes (I think), but nothing that should have swayed things too much. The finals should be quite interesting, but I'd put Big Mike as the odds on favorite, as he seems to be playing the best right now.

As for training facilities, I'm at level 3 on all of them, so we're in the same boat Sharp.

Good luck in the playoffs guys!!

Well, game one is in the books for the first round of the playoffs. Brett's Ticks and my Old Fogies came out on top. Both victors eeked out the wins by small margins. The ticks beat Mikes's Greenjacks by 2 points 37-35 and the fogies barely managed to win in a 9-8 decision over the Thrashers. I think that speaks volumes about the quality of play in this league. I played all my "old fogies" in game one. I am astonished at the lack of productivity most of them displayed, though. Although, my oldest player, Looshmiff (-4 canes), came up huge- garnering 4 of the 9 points the team needed to come out on top. I was reluctant to play him tonight because of the negative effects of age, but sure am glad I did now. I guess some orcs are just stars no matter how old :) Some of the other, non-productive oldsters may be hitting the bench for game 2, though. At any rate, here's hoping for another 1 point win!

it's Big Mike's Greenjacks vs. my Old Fogies ftw in the championship series in this elite league. Big Mike won a hotly-contested 40-38 game for the 3rd game in the series between Brett and him, while the Fogies sat idle for game 3. Anyone still have an opinion in this league? (I suspect probably not cause I have never seen Mike post).

I have an opinion, but you wont like it after the beat down your Old Fogies gave me in game two.

Congrats on the finals, and good luck Sharp.

Brett's Ticks face my Thrashers in the consilation game.

gonna be some tough calls on Rollover this season. I've got a goalie and center that are -5, and I'm on the fence as to whether to keep them or drop them. Man, did this team get old fast!
