Div I ending March 13th

In your second season, you are in Division IV. Third season teams play in Division III. Fourth season teams play in Division II. Teams that have already played four or more seasons are in Division I. This helps keep the playing field level as your team gains experience.

Div I ending March 13th

Postby randomluck » Fri Feb 01, 2008 12:55 pm

After nine games, this is what it look like:

Brakgwar's Err gho Fizh! me av nunez 38 8-0-0 273 - 67
Funkey's Monkeybreath 26 5-2-1 165 - 116
Bubbauk's Big Pile Of ... 23 5-3-0 152 - 100
Randomluck's Big City Boys 23 5-3-0 156 - 107
Dushlan's Harbringers 21 4-3-1 175 - 90
Kyle's Bluze 14 2-4-2 146 - 111
Marc's Shipton Reaverz 4 1-7-0 38 - 308
Chris's Brawlers 0 0-8-0 69 - 275

I remember I lost my first game against Brak, then I won my second game, but lost the third against BubbaUk. I was at the bottom of the pile and expected to stay there.

Winning streak and I'm in second! Woohoo! Then I played Brak, now I'm 3rd with the edge only in points. Last game against Brack tonight.

I'm throwing my A listers at him. Everyone is well rested, well armored, well armed and positioned to kill. Here's hoping I can break his winning streak (and still have enough left to finish the season).

I expected to take some loses at the start of the season as my noobs get blooded. Definately looks like being a hard season though ;^)

And i doubt this needs saying but i feel the need.

When it comes to brak, I am with Ice. WE WANT BLOOD!

My team hold our head in shame. I placed my best of the best out there against Brak. Not only did I lose, it was my worst loss to him (33-3). I will weep now.

I'm right there with you. My first game against him was a loss, but at least I don't face him again until Feb 17th.

Brak MUST BE STOPPED!!!

15 games in, no losses! Someone must bring him down! League commissioners are investigating Brak's use of experiemential Orcish Growth Hormones with Nuclear Medicine. Yes, Orcs are big and Green, but come on, they look like The Hulk out there!

In any case, Brak ruined a perfectly good grudge match between the Big City Boys and their Novice Archrivals, BubbaUk's Big Pile Of... Now, in Novice it was a close, hard fought and bloody battle. But, after having a double header against Brak, Big Pile Of was in no shape to contend. They were 5 orcs down going into the first game, 2 of them were Starter Goalies, so I know they were hurting. My orcs showed no mercy, expecting another Bitter game, and we trounced them 43-16.

Brak is destroying a perfectly good rivalry here! How can we expect to hate each other with a passion, work ourselves up into a frenzy of white-hot, spike wielding fury when we know the opposing team isn't playing their best?!

So, Brak must be stopped! For the hatred in our hearts must go on! We will overcome all obstacles to see the BigPileOf as victims! Our mutual distaste is the real victim here! We will continue to despise them! To send dead roses with bad poetry to their loved ones at funerals! We will continue the grudge match! Our hatred will reign supreme! Come one! Come all! Join us in our desire to pry the ball from our archrival's cold, dead hands! Don't let this hatred go to waste! Let's stop Brak!

:D

GG, BubbaUK! Look forward to your star goalie getting out of regen and facing us in the next game!

(uh oh, I feel another Coach Buttons post coming on!)

I had to go to the homelands to get another goalie! I only really had 3 going in, and I lost 2 of them! he took a big pounding. Thanks Brak!

I do get back from resting 2 starting def, 1 starting center and wing. Hopefully that will help out alot! But if I can't stop a shot, I'm gonna lose another big game.

looks like fourth will come down to the last 2 games between Dushlan and Me! We both have 2 hard games. Mine against the Funkey Monkey, Dushlan against Randomlucks Big City.

Then 2 easy games against the last place teams.

Then, each other. Thats the playoff run. GL

Brakgwar's Err gho Fizh! me av nunez 71 15-0-0 534 - 121
Funkey's Monkeybreath 54 11-3-1 391 - 182
Randomluck's Big City Boys 52 11-4-0 390 - 184
Dushlan's Harbringers 40 8-6-1 324 - 196
Bubbauk's Big Pile Of ... 38 8-7-0 322 - 286
Kyle's Bluze 23 4-9-2 233 - 233
Marc's Shipton Reaverz 4 1-14-0 75 - 575
Chris's Brawlers 0 0-15-0 96 - 588

The fight for fourth is a heated one, as is the fight for 2nd! I face Funkey next. From the stats, we are very evenly matched. With only 1 point difference in points earned and 2 point difference on points against, should be a close and good game!

Same goes with Dushland and BubbaUk. Dushlan has a definite advantage on Points against, but I think most of those points were due to BubbaUk losing his two goalies. One of them is back in play, as evidenced that our second games score was significantly closer (1st: 55-3, 2nd: 33-20). So I'm not sure if there is as much difference in their stats as is indicated.

The "spoiler" seems to be Kyle. His ability to tie Funkey puts me half a game behind, similar situation with Dushlan. Very interesting to see the symmetry between 2nd-3rd and 4th-5th.

Still, someone has to take Tune down a peg... My shaman is working on voodoo dolls of all his players, but like an orc, he made them out of titantium to give them that "realistic" touch. Our spikes merely scratch the surface. Does explain why his goalie kept scratching his ear in the last game, though...

LOL! Yeah, that reminds me, I left the development on shaman half-finished. I'd love to put that into place if for no other reason than to give you guys something to spend silver on.

Good luck in our match!

One game to go and this league has just an awesome fight for 2nd, 3rd and 4th place!

Overlord's Team IQ Win-Loss-Tie Points For - Against
Brakgwar's Err gho Fizh! me av nunez 95 20-0-0 812 - 154
Dushlan's Harbringers 64 13-6-1 539 - 241
Funkey's Monkeybreath 64 13-6-1 465 - 292
Randomluck's Big City Boys 61 13-7-0 486 - 264
Bubbauk's Big Pile Of ... 47 10-10-0 464 - 361
Kyle's Bluze 38 7-11-2 372 - 301
Chris's Brawlers 4 1-19-0 134 - 856
Marc's Shipton Reaverz 4 1-19-0 103 - 906

The pressure is really on me, if I lose I'm 4th and face Brak, no question about it.

However, If I win I'm guaranteed 3rd, as my opponent is Monkeybreath. But if Dushlan loses to Bubbauk I get 2nd (a relatively tough fight: I think BubbaUk was out of the running because he lost several orcs to Brak mid-season whereas the rest of us managed to survive the Brak encounter with no, or few, losses). As it stands, Dushlan currently is 2nd, unless Monkeybreath beats the pants off my orcs in a blowout.

It's like watching Pro-Football and trying to determine if your team can get in to the playoffs as a wildcard!

My prediction: Monkeybreath is going down to Big City in the game tonight. Our past match ups have been all Big City wins (33-9, 31-11). Dushlan will beat BubbaUk, but it's going to be close.

Brak loses to Kyle because all his orcs are exhausted, go on strike, and my voodoo dolls finally start working. In anger, Brak fires all his orcs, releasing them to the homelands stating "They just weren't working out, so it was my only recourse." He hires all level 1 goalies, and loses the championship.

I see no problems with this plan!
